Be Better

There was once a commercial for a TV show that I never watched. But it was not the show that was remarkable, it was a line in the clip that latched onto my brain; a nurse said to another doctor, I need you to be . . . better.” What if when we woke up in the morning, our hearts said this to our minds? There is always a way to grow, strengthen, and improve. Complacency is the enemy. When we stop reaching for something higher, we stop stretching ourselves. And when we stop stretching, we cramp up, we trip, we fall down, and we are unable to pull ourselves upright once again. Life without ambition is boring. Living without inspiration is cruel. I need to be . . . better.
